News & Events A Fun-Filled Festival at Options Malvern View
Options Malvern View’s ‘AALPSTOCK’ festival took place on Saturday 24th September. Around 40 people attended the fun filled day, including families members and staff. Throughout the day there was live music, a puppet show, and silent disco, as well as performances from the Salvation Army.
Food and drink for the festival was served from the new Courtyard Café at Options Malvern View, which opened this spring. The café, which has been open for two months, is run by woodwork vocational life skills instructor, Paul Burston, with help from the people that Options Malvern View supports. Currently the café is open twice a week, but the long term plan is for the café to be open weekdays.
Speaking of the AALPS festival, Options Malvern View Deputy Registered Manager, Josh Wheeler, said: “The AALPSTOCK festival, which started off as a small event, has grown significantly over the years and has become a big event in our calendar. The people we support really look forward to the festival every year, as do our staff, who enjoy spending time with families and their loved ones at the event.
“We’ve had a very busy and exciting year so far, with the opening of the café, the building of the sensory garden and receiving a special national commendation, so the festival is a brilliant way to celebrate.”
